It’s official.
The tundra is turning red, orange, and yellow. Morning comes with that long-awaited crispness. And the kids of Port Heiden, Alaska have once again headed back to Meshik School to fill their mind-places with knowledge-nuggets.
It was great while it lasted. Goodbye Summer.
The teachers and staff at the Meshik School have a handful this year with 27 kids enrolled, nearly double last year. The bump is due to an overall late-summer population spike. Some old families came back and a couple new families arrived.
It’s exciting for the whole community and the teachers seem especially jazzed to have new energy and more opportunities for connections.
Go team.
